GenoHack combines a 6-day entrepreneurship bootcamp with a 3-day hackathon. Participants develop genomics-based solutions supported by technical experts, business mentors, and industry partners — then pitch to turn their science into a real venture.

Precision Diagnostics Based on Genomics
Scope
Point-of-care assays, molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases, early cancer detection, pharmacogenomics for the Indonesian population.
Genomics for Food Security and Biodiversity
Scope
Plant trait characterization, marker-assisted breeding, eDNA-based biodiversity monitoring, aquaculture genomics.
Biomanufacturing and Synthetic Biology for Pharmaceuticals
Scope
Microbial engineering for active pharmaceutical ingredients, cell-free systems, fermentation platforms, local antigen and enzyme production.

Simple guidelines for a fair program
Everything you need to know to ensure a fair and productive program for everyone.
Team Size
Teams of 3–6 people, including at least 1 lecturer alongside students and/or professionals. Multidisciplinary teams preferred. You can also register as an individual and form or join a team on-site during Hackathon Day 1.
Bootcamp Attendance
Teams are expected to attend the bootcamp: hybrid sessions on 17–18 October and online evening sessions from 19–22 October 2026.
Development Window
All prototypes must be built during the hackathon window, 23–25 October 2026.
Genomics Focus
Projects must apply genomics data or biotechnology concepts to solve a real-world problem.
Data Ethics
Only ethically sourced and properly licensed genomic or biological datasets may be used.
Originality
Projects must be original work developed specifically for this program.
External Resources
Open-source libraries, frameworks, and APIs are permitted and encouraged.
Submission Requirements
Include a prototype and a pitch deck at final submission.
